Have you eaten even until you’re full; you KNOW you’re satisfied, but you keep going anyway?
You tell yourself, “I just can’t stop” and continue to plow through your meal until you’re uncomfortably full.
Just this one last bite or meal.
You have two modes: starving or stuffed. Nothing in-between.
You’re frustrated and you feel “out of control.” These eating experiences are always followed by guilt, frustration, and shame.
At the moment, when you’re eating, you tell yourself you “don’t care.” But that’s a lie because the guilt afterward reminds you that you DO care. That guilt leads to overall regret and a state of never starting up for you.
You are lying to yourself.
The truth is, anytime you eat when you’re not physically hungry, your body actually doesn’t WANT to keep eating.
This is when your psychological hunger (read: cravings) are calling the shots. Logically, you know you don’t need to eat more, but mentally, your mind tells you to keep going.
Your mind is the frenemy to your body.
The truth?
You are ALWAYS in complete control of what and how much you eat.
Always.
When you think you’re not, you’ll act like you’re not.
You’re the boss, not the food.
Quick question? Does the food ever tell you how much should you eat OR do you decide and eat what you feel is right?
When you find yourself in a moment where you WANT to keep going, use the logical side of your brain to self-parent the irrational impulse.
My best practice is: When I eat my meals, I only eat my food - Nothing else. Na-Da! 0 distractions( Television, Phone Calls, Social Media, On Table Discussions).
Why?
I get to 100% focus on what I’m eating. I feel satisfied faster.
I save time because I get to finish my food quickly. 15mins Vs 30-45 mins with distractions.
You CAN definitely do this too.
