Obesity Worsens Outcomes from COVID-19
Adults with excess weight are at even greater risk during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I hate to break it to you.
I would rather be the friend who speaks the truth, rather than the one who avoids it and conforms to your opinion.
India, which is going through its second wave is losing thousands of people every day.
If there’s one thing you need to know, it’s this -
Having obesity increases the risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
A study of COVID-19 cases suggests that risks of hospitalization, intensive care unit admission, invasive mechanical ventilation, and death are higher with increasing BMI.1
What can you do?
Start with a Healthy Diet
The key to losing weight is focussing on maintaining a healthy diet. If you can start tomorrow, you’ll be 10x faster than the person who never starts. Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, and nuts to keep you healthy overall.Be Active
If there’s one thing I learnt during COVID, it’s this - you don’t need a gym or park to be active. You can start where you are.
Start participating in house chores, walking in free space, or doing bodyweight exercises - require 0 fees, equipment, or installation. It’ll also help you with overall weight loss in burning fat.Get Enough Sleep
Insufficient sleep has often led to depression. Sleep as much as you feel like and don’t overburden your mind with anything.Work with an experienced consultant
There are many people out there who make custom-tailored plans better suited for your goals. Luckily, I’m one of them and have a few spots open for the end of May. If you’d like to onboard my program, feel free to reply to this email.
I do hope you realize that this week’s post is dedicated to your long-term well-being. If you decide to act today, you’ll have a lighter future.
Wishing you and your family the best of health.
